PUNTA CANAWith an investment of $350 million, the construction of a state-of-the-art theme park and two hotels in Punta Cana was announced today. The announcement was made by President Luis Abinader, along with the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, and representatives from Meliá Hotels International and Falcon's.

Furthermore, Abinader pointed out that this investment will generate more than 600 direct jobs with the theme park alone and double the indirect demand.

The president also said that many investors from various sectors want to invest in the country because their investments are guaranteed.

In that order, the tourism minister stated that the theme park will have an investment of 170 million dollars, which will open the doors to the diversity of the eastern region, which is the spearhead in the Dominican Republic.

Collado indicated that $180 million will be invested in the hotels and 50 million pesos in the renovation of their rooms.

Katmandu Park, a world of adventure

The park will be called Katmandu Park and will open in the fall of 2022, along with other projects that will consolidate the destination's leadership in entertainment, gastronomy, and shopping tourism.

The project was announced by Meliá Hotels International and Falcon's Beyond Global, who also explained a comprehensive plan for renovations and improvements to their Paradisus hotels in Punta Cana.

Falcon's Beyond's plan for this new entertainment destination is being developed in two phases, one of which includes the development of Katmandu Park Punta Cana, which will bring the characters and magical history of Kathmandu, a place of great motivation for children in Europe.

The “Katmandu Experience” will include legendary attractions alongside the latest entertainment innovations, such as the world’s first “Suspended Theater,” and will also offer exciting adventures that will immerse guests and visitors in the universe of Kathmandu, completely transforming the entertainment offerings of the Dominican Republic.

The second phase of the project will expand the first by adding a premium entertainment, dining, and shopping experience through the incorporation of major international brands in these sectors, and will be led by Falcon's Beyond. In this regard, Cecil D. Magpuri, CEO of Falcon's Beyond Global, stated, "The scale and potential of the entertainment brands we will be announcing early next year as part of phase two of the project are truly impressive.".
