SANTO DOMINGO.- Sonesta International Hotels Corporation (Sonesta) announced yesterday an agreement for the opening of five Sonesta ES Suites hotels in the Dominican Republic, which will be built over the next seven years.
The properties will operate under a franchise agreement with Almanzar Marte Ingenieros & Arquitectos, a real estate developer with over 14 years of experience and a portfolio of more than 100 residential units delivered in Santo Domingo, according to a press release.
"We are proud to announce the execution of this important agreement for the opening of five Sonesta ES Suites hotels in the Dominican Republic between now and 2031," commented Brian Quinn, Sonesta's development director.

He explained that with the construction of these hotels, the brand continues its expansion in the Latin American region to meet the growing demand from consumers and franchise holders in the region for luxury apartment-style accommodations.
The first of these properties will be built in Jarabacoa and is scheduled to begin operations in the first quarter of 2026, and the remaining four hotels will be completed within seven years.

Hotel in Jarabacoa
Sonesta ES Suites ELEMENTS Jarabacoa will be an extended-stay hotel. It will offer a minimum of 80 suites, with an attractive food and beverage selection, eight outdoor pools, tennis courts, paddle tennis courts, electric vehicle charging stations, barbecues and fire pits, a children's play area, a game room and spa/gym, as well as a bar and restaurant serving three meals a day, a common recreation area, and a French bistro that will be the first of its kind in the area.
