SANTO DOMINGO.– The discovery and delivery to the Government of the title to the land where the Dominican Cement Company operated was described yesterday by two officials as a historic event that will make it possible to grant titles in that area of the country's capital.

Yesterday, the executive director of the State Land Titling Technical Unit (Utect), Mérido Torres, received from the president of the Commission for the Liquidation of State Organs (CLOE), Rafael Burgos Gómez, the property title of the historic Dominican cement factory (Cementera Dominicana), located on the banks of the Isabela River in the National District, which had disappeared.

“With this titling plan, families living within the 850,000 square meters of land owned by the Dominican State will benefit. This land was recovered by the government headed by President Luis Abinader, through the Commission for the Liquidation of State Entities,” explained Burgos Gómez.

Both officials explained that the degree certificate had been missing for years, "so its discovery and delivery to Utect is a historic event that will make it possible to award degrees in that area of the capital."

They agreed that a legal and cadastral investigation process can now begin with the purpose of titling the lands where the cement factory operated, along with the plots and houses located in El Puerto Isabela, formerly (Hoyo de Chulín) and the National Zoological Park.

The director of Utect stated that the institution's technical teams will begin working on the phase of transferring the land to the State, via documentation, which will allow the titling process to begin on that plot.

“We will carry out the land survey and announce the launch to the country in a public event, as we usually do, and there we will say everyone who will benefit,” Torres pointed out.
