Excel closes a great year of operations as the leader in the real estate funds category, with a 28% market share
SANTO DOMINGO– The shareholders' meeting of the Excel II Real Estate Closed-End Investment Fund authorized on Tuesday, December 7, doubling the fund's assets, increasing them from US$100 million to US$200 million. Excel, a leading investment banking group, is closing a year of significant growth, having increased its market share to 28% in the real estate fund sector.
A statement sent to El Inmobiliario indicates that one of the keys to the group's recent growth lies precisely in the performance of its two real estate funds. The addition of new assets has allowed it to increase its net worth to over US$160.8 million. "Especially noteworthy has been the performance of Real Estate Fund II, which has completed all of its issuances.".
He argues that in terms of acquisitions, one of the main ones this year has been that of the emblematic property located in the center of Santo Domingo, corresponding to the building that houses the Embassy Suites by Hilton hotel.
“This is an investment strategy that Excel will continue to pursue, in accordance with its established investment policy, which has been rigorously followed. This, in turn, fosters confidence among those seeking security and profitability in this type of investment instrument. Therefore, the authorization to double the investment amount of Real Estate Fund II to US$200 million is a significant milestone for the year that is drawing to a close and looks ahead to a promising 2022,” the statement reads.
Alberto Cruz, president of Excel, stated that “this has been an extraordinary year for the investment fund industry and, especially, for the real estate investment funds we manage. The support and trust of our investors, combined with the excellent performance of the funds, has allowed us to consolidate a leading position that provides the ideal platform for continued growth.”.

Furthermore, the document explains, Excel maintains its “firm commitment to promoting the development of the stock market through equities, offering the market investment products with competitive returns, low volatility, and high liquidity. We continue working every day to ensure that stock market resources have a direct and positive impact on the real economy.”.
A recognition of that vision and Excel's excellent performance in the market came a few days ago, when, at the awards ceremony of the Dominican Republic Stock Exchange, it won the prize for the largest equity trader.
