SANTO DOMINGO.- The Association of Real Estate Agents and Companies (AEI) announced that the Dominican Republic has been chosen to host the X Latin American Real Estate Congress in 2025, organized by the Latin American Real Estate Confederation (CILA), an entity that brings together the leading real estate organizations in Latin American countries.
Currently, CILA represents more than 600 real estate brokers and companies in 18 Latin American countries, with members including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Peru, Panama, and Venezuela.
The eighth edition, which concluded last Friday, September 22nd, in Panama, brought together more than 300 participants and some 20 speakers, transforming the event, as in previous years, into a training and networking opportunity for the real estate sector. Next year, in 2024, it will be held in Ecuador.
"Having secured the venue for the CILA congress means a great deal not only to our association but also to our country, since it is an entity comprised of associations from 18 countries and more than 600,000 real estate agents, so our nation would be a trending topic during the days of the congress," responds Alberto Bogaert, president of the AEI, when consulted by El Inmobiliario.
He adds that the host countries are chosen each year, and there are always several interested in hosting the event. "This time, we decided to submit our bid at the Ordinary Assembly and secured the 2025 edition, where we are sure to be visited by hundreds of real estate professionals from the various countries that make up the confederation.".
He explains that the Dominican Republic has been a member of CILA since 2014, but it was in 2018 that it took center stage as a country-association, participating in all the boards from then on. "We obtained the vice presidency in 2020, which I held, and at this very congress in Panama, our country again obtained the vice presidency, this time with Claudia Castillo," Bogaert explains.

This year, the Dominican delegation, in addition to Bogaert, included Claudia Castillo, former president of the AEI; Belkis Cuello, international representative; and Cristina Alba, member. The term for the vice presidency will begin in November 2023 and end in 2024.
