The Dominican Republic receives more than 10 million visitors in 11 months

SANTO DOMINGO.-The Dominican Republic received 10,284,251 visitors in the first 11 months of this year, which guarantees a record number of arrivals by the end of 2025, reported Minister David Collado.

In announcing the results of the industry's performance during the January-November period, during his presentation at a hotel in the capital, Collado said that the arrival of visitors in the first eleven months of the year registered a growth of 52% compared to 2019, 13% compared to 2023 and 3.1% compared to last year.

The official reported that in those eleven months the country received 7,884,421 tourists by air, which represented a growth of 35% compared to 2019, 10% in relation to 2023 and 3% in comparison to 2024.

In the period January-November of this year, 2,399,830 cruise passengers arrived , representing an increase of 153% compared to 2019, 25% compared to 2023 and 3.4% compared to last year.

"These arrivals, by air and sea, mark another record: 10,284,251 visitors in eleven months. We did it again," said Minister Collado.

The official reported that in November alone the country received a total of 1,000,484 visitors, reflecting a growth of 75% compared to 2019, 16% compared to 2023 and 13.5% compared to 2024.

The countries of origin that contributed the most visitors were the United States with 39%, Canada with 19%, Colombia and Argentina with 6%, while Puerto Rico, Mexico and Germany accounted for 3%.

The airports that received the most tourists in the January-November period were Punta Cana with 62%, Las Américas with 22%, Cibao with 10%, Puerto Plata with 4% and La Romana and the rest with 1%.

Minister Collado stated that, despite all the adversities worldwide, Dominican tourism continues to grow steadily.

"It has been a feat to achieve these numbers given the international situation," Minister Collado emphasized.

"We have been able to strengthen trust between domestic and foreign investors," the official stated.
