Surveyors can now apply online for internship exemption: here's how the new digital service works

SANTO DOMINGO – Surveying professionals will no longer have to travel to an office to request an internship exemption. The Property Registry has launched a new, fully digital service that will allow this procedure to be managed from anywhere in the country, with the aim of streamlining the process and facilitating access for those who require this professional qualification.

The institution explained, through its official channels, that the application is made entirely through its web portal and that, since it is a strictly personal procedure, it does not require intermediaries or representatives.

The initiative is part of the digitalization strategy of the Property Registry services, aimed at reducing management times, avoiding physical travel and strengthening electronic service to users.

Step-by-step instructions for submitting the application

The process begins by entering the institutional portal of the Real Estate Registry and accessing the "Our Services" section, where you will find the "Online Services" section and the "Surveyors' Internship Certifications" option.

Once inside the platform, the applicant must create a new application, enter their ID number to automatically validate their personal data, and register an email address, which will be used to receive all notifications related to the file.

Subsequently, you must upload the required documentation in digital format. This documentation includes a letter addressed to the National Director of Cadastral Surveys requesting the exemption, a work certificate demonstrating completion of the internship for one uninterrupted year, a copy of your identity card, and two 2x2 photographs.

In addition, it will be necessary to attach the certifications legalized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT) corresponding to the degree letter, grade record, copy of the university degree and certification of the last subject taken.

Before submitting the application, the system verifies that all documentation has been uploaded correctly. Once this step is complete, the user only needs to submit the file and keep the application number generated by the platform, which will allow them to check the status of the process later. They will also receive an automatic confirmation email.

Requirements to avoid problems

The Property Registry reminded that this procedure can only be carried out by the applicant himself and that the documents must be uploaded in PDF, JPG or PNG format, with a maximum weight of five megabytes per file.

The entity indicated that this modality seeks to offer a faster, safer and more transparent process for surveying professionals, while continuing to expand the range of digital services available to users of the Dominican real estate system.
