The Dominican Republic successfully participated in the second edition of the Qatar State Tourism Fair, which was held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC).
Quisqueya had an impressive stand where interactive activities took place, such as mini-golf courses, a hand-rolled cigar manufacturing process, bachata classes, tasting of Dominican coffee and chocolate, a beach recreation, among other attractions that the country has to offer.
The opening of the stand was led by the country's ambassador to the State of Qatar, H.E. George Bahsa Hazim, and the director of the Central Asia Tourism Promotion Office (OPT), Alexandra Streltsova, according to a press release from the Communications Directorate of the Ministry of Tourism.
The country was recognized by the fair organizers, who thanked them for their support of the event and their successful presentation. The Dominican Republic pavilion was also one of the most visited thanks to the experiences it offered to visitors.
Among the promotional activities by MITUR were: a talk to the professional public offered by the OPT director on the topic “Unique Marketing Proposal. Dominican Republic case”, as well as the folk dance within the framework of the “Global Village Performance” festival.
Members of the diplomatic mission in Qatar maintained a presence throughout the three days of the fair to provide official information to interested parties. Similarly, representatives from ProDominicana presented the favorable investment climate for the region.
The document adds that the country's stand was the only one in the Caribbean and Latin America that had the assistance of the main government entities to provide the most complete information on the country's offerings.
