SANTO DOMINGO.-The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort & Residences, a new venture to elevate the high-end tourism offering in the Dominican Republic, was officially inaugurated this weekend, featuring 200 luxurious rooms and 70 private residences.
President Luis Abinader led the opening ceremony of the complex last Friday, May 9, in whose construction an amount exceeding 220 million dollars was invested, making it the first hotel of this brand in the country and the Caribbean, with Dominican capital.
“We are proud to have led an investment that marks a milestone in the Dominican Republic’s tourism offerings. This project reflects how the stock market can be a true engine of national economic development, with tangible and sustainable results,” said Yamil Isaías, executive vice president of Pioneer, the firm that spearheaded the brand’s arrival in the country through Pioneer Investment Funds, with its corporate development fund.
“St. Regis Cap Cana Resort is a compelling example of the capacity of Dominican talent and capital to lead world-class developments,” he added.

The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort & Residences features 200 luxurious rooms and 70 private residences, combining cutting-edge architectural design with the renowned elegance and personalized service of the St. Regis brand, operated by Marriott International. It overlooks the Punta Espada golf course.
Dino Campagna, president of Campagna Ricart & Asociados, the company in charge of promoting and constructing the project, stated that “today we are delivering to the country a luxury destination that reflects our vision, commitment, and capabilities. Every detail of the St. Regis Cap Cana has been designed to provide an unparalleled experience in harmony with the surrounding natural environment.”.
He explained that the architectural and interior design, by renowned local and international firms, prioritized integration with the landscape and respect for the environment, consolidating the resort as a model of sustainability, sophistication and hospitality.
The inauguration was attended by, in addition to the Dominican president, David Collado, Minister of Tourism; Samuel Pereyra, administrator of Banco de Reservas; Héctor Garrido, president of Pioneer Investment Funds; Laura Santoni, general manager of St. Regis Cap Cana; Diego Lamasson, hotel manager of St. Regis Cap Cana, among other guests.
