SDQ MICE 2025 from September 10th to 12th

SANTO DOMINGO, RD - The Dominican capital will once again be a showcase for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) tourism with the fifth edition of SDQ MICE, to be held from September 10 to 12, 2025, according to the Santo Domingo Hotel Association (AHSD), which announced an alliance with the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), adding an international focus and expected to bring buyers and planners from the United States, Europe and Latin America.

In its publication last Saturday (July 26), El Inmobiliario highlighted the growth of the MiCE segment in the country and its economic impact, providing context to the announcement of the event: with data from the WTTC, MiCE represented 6.3% of tourist spending in 2024, with an average daily consumption per visitor of US$208, above the traditional vacation tourist (average US$167.30, according to the Central Bank).

During the recent DATE 2025 trade show, industry leaders and representatives announced that the September edition will include the PCMA Customer Advisory Summit for the first time, raising SDQ MICE's international profile and attracting event planners from key markets. "We are prepared to offer a complete and differentiated experience," said Yudit García, president of AHSD, at the time.

Organized by Turenlaces del Caribe in close cooperation with AHSD, the event will bring together more than 40 exhibitors, including hotels, convention centers, travel agencies and event service providers.

The organizers expect to attract between 40 and 50 high-profile buyers, primarily from the United States, Latin America, and Europe, with at least 40 business meetings scheduled per buyer. In addition, the agenda will be complemented by cultural experiences and culinary activities showcasing the best of the Dominican Republic as a destination.

Preliminary agenda

Delegates are expected to register on Wednesday, September 10, between 11:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino, and the opening cocktail party will be held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton at 7:45 p.m.

Thursday, September 11th and Friday, September 12th will feature business meetings, workshops and networking from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm at various partner venues.

With this agenda, Santo Domingo reinforces its tourism diversification strategy and its positioning as a hub for high-impact events, supported by its hotel infrastructure and meeting spaces, including the main hall of the Crowne Plaza, with capacity for large conventions, and the city's air connectivity.
