SANTIAGO DE LOS CABALLEROS.- Alejandro Fondeur Mera, recently sworn in as president of the Association of Housing Developers and Builders of Cibao (APROCOVICI), believes that the construction sector in this municipality is experiencing its best moment, which in his opinion creates a wide range of opportunities for the industry in general.
During the swearing-in ceremony, held at the business building of the Technological University of Santiago (UTESA), the businessman declared that in the last five years this northern province maintained an average gross income of 21,500 million pesos annually, demonstrating its importance within the lines of the national economy.
The young president, a descendant of a family of builders, was sworn in by the director of Urban Planning of the Santiago City Council, Nancydith Espinal.
“Being in the best city and at the best time to contribute to the sustainable development of the municipalities inspires the large legion of professionals who, from APROCOVICI, design and create spaces for the home and recreation of families,” said Fondeur Mera, who appealed to the support of the community of associates to continue consolidating the business association.
The new board of directors of APROCOVICI is made up of engineers Sandy Rodríguez, Raymel Infante, Andrés Torres, Rafael Santos, Francisco Gómez, Bernardo Cabrera, Mario Bonilla, Pedro Jiménez, Gilberto Fernández and architect Natali Fernández, a team that committed to working for internal strengthening, offering support services to its members and promoting digital transformation.

In front of a large group of guests invited for the occasion, he pledged to create internal bodies that promote the training of partners through forums, technical certifications and inclusive training programs, as well as support development companies in the permitting and processing process.
Furthermore, in his speech he acknowledged the effort and dedication of the previous board, headed by Landy Colón, whom he praised for his openness, trust and friendship.
