LA VEGA- The collapse of the roof of the Casa Mora building, which caught fire yesterday, left three firefighters dead on the night of Wednesday, October 27.
The deceased firefighters were identified as Major Juan María Concepción, 53, Second Lieutenant Olvi Arias, 27, and Sergeant Major José Luis Mojica, 55.
The information was confirmed to Listín Diario by the director of the Emergency Operations Center (COE), General Juan Manuel Méndez, who assured that they are offering all the necessary help to the authorities of La Vega to control the situation.

“So far, the information I have is that there are three dead,” Méndez said when consulted by telephone.
Meanwhile, several fire department units, including a fire department unit from the municipality of Santo Domingo Este, and 14 firefighters, were sent to that city to provide support.
The fire chief of Santo Domingo East, Colonel Roberto Santos Méndez, told this media outlet that they came to help because it was a large-scale fire, and in such cases it is necessary to offer all the necessary facilities to control the situation, regardless of the location.
The time the fire started is unknown, however, it has already consumed a large part of the building, located on José Núñez de Cáceres street, in the center of the province, where it has been for years one of the reference places for commerce in that area.
