As part of its diversification and expansion strategies, Grupo Puntacana announced yesterday, within the framework of the 44th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR 2024), held in Madrid, Spain, a novel hotel development, projected to be inaugurated by 2026.
The new real estate project will be built in Playa Serena Puntacana Resort and will be a unique offering in ultra-luxury tourism, according to a press release from the company.
"The Playa Serena hotel will be a project where nature meets luxury and exclusivity. It will have capacity for 160 guests, 75 suites, 5 overwater villas, 1 beach club, 3 restaurants, 1 themed restaurant, 1 beach restaurant, 4 bars, and 8 spa bungalows. Its opening is projected for 2026," highlights Grupo Puntacana.
The announcement was made by the firm's executives, Frank Elías Rainieri, president and CEO; Paola Rainieri, Chief Marketing Officer; and Francesca Rainieri, Chief Financial Officer; accompanied by Frank Rainieri, founder and president of the Board of Grupo Puntacana; and Haydée Rainieri, member of the board of Grupo Puntacana.
“The Playa Serena hotel elevates the Puntacana Resort offering. We are very excited, as it is a novel concept that will boost the Dominican Republic's tourism industry in the coming years,” stated Frank Elías Rainieri, President and CEO of Grupo Puntacana.
Rainieri also added that “the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) has become a launching pad for many innovative projects in the Dominican tourism sector. It is also a showcase to the world of the Dominican Republic's unique offerings and the unified vision with which the sector operates.”.
He explained that the company's pioneering work has contributed to the development of more than 40,000 hotel rooms in the eastern part of the Dominican Republic. The region generates the equivalent of 6.8% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the tourism sector and has become the province with the highest per capita income in the country.
