President Abinader delivers 168 homes in Manoguayabo

SANTO DOMINGO.– President Luis Abinader led the handover of 168 new low-cost, social housing units that are part of the Happy Family National Housing Plan and are located in the Lolita I Residential complex in Manoguayabo, Santo Domingo West.

This brings to 1,429 the number of families who have already received the keys to their own home through this plan.

The Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos Echavarría, stated that it was a special day since 79% of the beneficiaries resided in rented houses, with an average payment of RD 7,600, which they will now allocate to pay towards their own home.

The project investment is RD 641 million, of which RD 407 million is private capital and more than RD 220 million is contributed by the Government in subsidies.

In this regard, he said that 20 women benefited from the Women's Bonus for more than RD$3.7 million.

From the beneficiaries, phrases such as "it is a long-awaited dream and thank God, here we are as a family" were heard; "now I am going to start in my own home"; and "we give many thanks to our President.".

This completes the delivery of the first stage of 264 apartments in this project.

The project developer, Louis Bogaert, thanked Bandex and Banco de Reservas for their support and announced the construction of Lolita II, with 340 new housing units that would be delivered in 2024.
