Panamanians are interested in investing in the country

CruzPichardo also highlighted that the flow of Panamanian tourists to the country has increased considerably with the operation of five regular flights to and from that South American nation.

SANTO DOMINGO.- The Consul General of the Dominican Republic in Panama, Néstor Julio Cruz Pichardo, stated that he maintains a fluid relationship with Panamanian businessmen, who have expressed interest in making capital investments in the Dominican Republic.

The diplomat explained that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is immersed in a negotiation process with the objective of expanding the trade agreement that Panama has with the country.

He said that there is a negotiating committee that, together with a delegation from Panama, is reviewing that treaty, which was established in 1987 between the governments of both countries and must be verified.

He clarified that the development that exists between the two countries with the commercialization of new products and articles requires that these be added to the list contemplated in the trade agreement still in force.

Cruz Pichardo also highlighted that the flow of Panamanian tourists to the country has increased considerably with the operation of five regular flights to and from that South American nation.

He indicated that there has been an influx of Dominicans traveling to that country.
