PALENQUE, SAN CRISTÓBAL.- -Palenque is one of the beaches that the Government included in the plan announced at the beginning of this month of August and which involves an investment of 3 billion pesos, extending to 25 locations on the national map.
President Luis Abinader and the Minister of Tourism presented this weekend the program to improve service infrastructure in Playa Palenque, San Cristóbal, with an estimated investment of almost one hundred million pesos.
This project is part of the country's beach refurbishment program, which aims to create dignified and safe spaces for national and foreign tourists to enjoy healthy recreation, and also to promote improvements for local businesses, thus strengthening the economy in the area.
“What we are starting here today will mark a before and after for those who visit this beach, and especially for the small vendors,” Collado said.
He stated that under his administration, "tourism has a human face," since all actions taken by the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) benefit the entire value chain.
The work will be carried out through the Executive Committee for Infrastructure of Tourist Zones (CEIZTUR) of the MITUR.
This project covers an intervention area of 4,200 square meters, which will include an access plaza of 972 square meters, an integration plaza of 408 square meters, and a table area of 427 square meters.
It will consist of 18 food sales modules with all their equipment (stove, sink, freezer, tables, chairs and stools), divided into several types: nine of category 1, one of category 2 and eight of category 3.
Meanwhile, the seating area will consist of 3 modules of 126.27 meters each, with a capacity for 180 people in total.
The project to improve the service infrastructure in Playa Palenque will also include restrooms, a security area, an exercise area, spaces for children, lighting, signage, etc.
It will also have a parking space providing access to the Tourist Police (POLITUR) detachment.
