BAYAHIBE, LA ALTAGRACIA.- The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, inaugurated yesterday, Monday, the construction of the road infrastructure of Bayahíbe, in this tourist province, at an approximate cost of 53 million pesos.
A press release highlights that the project covered 11 road axes within the municipality of Bayahibe, with a total length of 3.48 kilometers.
In addition, 4,229 linear meters of curbs, storm drains, and drainage channels were constructed to ensure proper water flow and the durability of the road. Horizontal and vertical signage was also installed.
Collado said that the inaugurated works are part of the effort that the Ministry of Tourism is making to continue strengthening that destination.
"Projects like these are essential to continue boosting tourism in this magnificent destination. And we will spare no effort to mark a turning point in our administration," the official stated.
The work was carried out by the Executive Committee for Infrastructure of Tourist Zones (Ceiztur), directed by Yaneris Then, for a total amount of RD 52,946,746.62, with a finish in 2” asphalt concrete and paving stones in the parking area.
In addition, the parking lot at the pier for Isla Saona is being rebuilt, with a variable width.
The opening ceremony was attended by key local and provincial authorities, as well as tourism entrepreneurs.
