Ministry of Housing authorizes opening of Euphoria nightclub after meeting construction requirements

SANTO DOMINGO.- The Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVHED) reported that it ordered the opening of the Euphoria in Santo Domingo East this Friday, after verifying that the establishment complied with the requirements approved by the Directorate of Supervision of Private Works of the Vice Ministry of Standards, Rules and Procedures.

The agency had closed the nightclub located on Venezuela Avenue in October of this year for operating without the corresponding construction permits, which is why the institution urged them to begin a regularization process to safeguard the safety of the people who visit these establishments

The agency explained in a press release that during the inspection, the technical team verified the modifications made to the infrastructure, specifically the replacement of the main roof with a lightweight metal structure. According to the report, this new roof does not generate additional gravitational loads that could compromise the building's stability.

The Directorate of Private Works Inspections detailed that the construction remains within safe parameters and does not present an imminent risk of collapse.

The MIVHED further explained that the school's administration has already submitted the remodeling plans and is currently undergoing a formal architectural regularization process. These documents were submitted for technical evaluation and approved after it was confirmed that the modifications meet the established requirements.

After these verifications, the Inspections Directorate determined that the building is suitable for public use and authorized its formal reopening.

The process is part of strengthening control, supervision and regulatory compliance in mass-use buildings, with the aim of guaranteeing safety and protection for both owners and users, explains the state entity.

The Ministry of Housing reaffirmed its willingness to support establishments that have not yet been regularized and stressed that the main objective is to ensure that all businesses operate under safe conditions for the public that visits them.
