SANTO DOMINGO.- The Minister of Finance and Economy, Magín Díaz, held a meeting today with the National Board of Directors of the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD), where he confirmed his administration's willingness to work jointly with the productive sectors, in order to strengthen the economy and generate greater opportunities for investment and development for the country.
At the meeting, AIRD representatives discussed the main challenges affecting the competitiveness of the industry, highlighting the need to create favorable conditions that consolidate the sector and promote greater opportunities for foreign investment.
Díaz listened firsthand to the concerns of the industrialists and stressed that these spaces for dialogue not only seek to revitalize the economy and promote its growth, but also to consolidate a solid synergy between the Government and the business sector, with the goal of promoting sustained development that benefits the entire nation.
“The country needs us to work together to strengthen our industry, attract investment, and generate quality jobs. This is the path to guaranteeing economic growth that translates into well-being for all Dominicans,” the minister stated.
The president of the AIRD, Julio Virgilio Brache, praised the minister's openness and receptiveness, stating: “It is essential that we maintain open channels of communication and continue seeking consensus and solutions. It is extremely important that, given the various problems that afflict us—both internal and external—we always exhaust a process of direct and frank dialogue.”
He emphasized that willingness to engage in dialogue strengthens trust and creates a favorable climate for further progress in the competitiveness and the generation of quality jobs.
The meeting took place at the AIRD Business Tower headquarters on Sarasota Avenue and is part of an ongoing agenda of dialogues promoted by Minister Magín Díaz with various productive sectors, reaffirming his administration's commitment to openness, consensus , and the development of joint policies that strengthen the national productive fabric and create a favorable climate for investment and sustainable development.
Meetings with other sectors
In recent weeks the official has met with prominent leaders of the national business community and has held meetings with the Board of Directors of the National Council of Private Enterprise (Conep), the National Organization of Commercial Enterprises (ONEC), the Dominican Federation of Merchants and representatives of the MSME sector.
