The architect's father says he is living a dream that leaves him feeling powerless and full of anger

SANTO DOMINGO.– “People like him don’t deserve to breathe on the street,” says José Rosado, the father of architect Leslie Rosado, about National Police corporal Janli Disla Batista, who shot and killed her last Saturday in Boca Chica.
“He doesn’t deserve to ever go out on the street, and people like him don’t deserve to breathe on the street, he doesn’t deserve to socialize with anyone, because he is an abusive criminal,” Rosado said.
He says Batista is irresponsible because he started by shooting at the vehicle where his daughter and granddaughter were, then arrived with his gun, smashing the rear and driver's side windows, and finally shot the construction worker, killing her.
“A criminal like that shouldn't be armed, and there are many armed criminals like him who need to be disarmed. We need to transform this society and this institution,” said José Rosado, calling on President Luis Abinader to make the necessary changes in the National Police.
He described what he has been experiencing since the death of his daughter as a dream, for which he expressed feeling powerless and full of anger.
She describes her daughter as an excellent human being, hardworking and entrepreneurial.
Rosado spoke upon his arrival at the Blandino Funeral Home on Abraham Lincoln Avenue, where Leslie's remains are being viewed.
