SANTO DOMINGO.– ITADO, the Dominican Institute of Appraisers, affirms that requests for appraisals have increased in the country, from the State, financial institutions and individuals.
"This has brought confidence from many institutions, of different kinds, not only governmental but also private, that they will always take us into account for work, decision-making and appraisals," said Fernando Ramírez Villanueva, the newly elected president of the organization.
The statements were made during the celebration of its Ordinary General Assembly for the change of National and Regional Directives corresponding to the period 2023-2025.
At the assembly, the new national board was elected, which, in addition to Ramírez Villanueva, was made up of Gustavo Alberto Ortega Cordero, vice president; Ramón José Guzmán de Moya, Secretary General and Plinio Antonio Melo Zorrilla, treasurer.
Fabio García, (president 2021-2023), highlighted in his administration the agreement maintained for the performance of appraisals with the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), the increase of membership by 20%, the launch of the new tariff of professional fees, as well as the organization and realization of the masterful XXXV UPAV Congress in 2021.
“We already have the draft for the Dominican Valuation Standards ready, we have been transparent and austere with our finances, we have no debts, and today we have a greater presence in the media, which benefits appraisers, since society is increasingly demanding our services,” García highlighted.
The national board is completed by Claudia Isabel Feliz Valenzuela, recording secretary; Víctor Manuel Leger Rafael, secretary of inter-union relations; Frank Nicolás Olivares Ramírez, secretary of education; Freddy Oguis Muñoz Echavarría, secretary of public relations; and Enamuel Arache Cedeño, secretary of events.
Jorge Luis Núñez Peynado was sworn in as director of the North region, José Rafael Aquino Rivas in the East, and Erymil Diaz Pimentel in the South.
With more than 48 years of experience, ITADO has maintained constant growth in its enrollment and, with strict adherence to ethics, is moving forward in optimizing the conditions of the professional practice of its members, says a statement from the entity.
He adds that education is one of its main pillars, allowing its skilled students to train themselves to participate in the professional opportunities available to the industry.
The entity has gained considerable importance in the board of the Pan American Union of Valuation Associations (UPAV), the most important association in the region, where it has already presided.
The assembly was attended by around 120 members and was held in the La Mancha room of the Barceló Hotel in Santo Domingo.
