SANTO DOMINGO– The Dominican Port Authority (Apordom) highlighted the significant return of the Island Princess cruise ship, from the Princess Cruises line, after 15 years without visiting a Dominican port, which represents the country's continued progress in receiving ships at its various cruise terminals.
The Island Princess ship will arrive on July 8th of this year, through the Amber Cove located in Puerto Plata, as part of the itinerary of ships that will arrive through the different ports and cruise anchorages of the country.
The executive director of the Dominican Port Authority (Apordom), Jean Luis Rodríguez, described the Island Princess cruise ship's decision to return to the Dominican Republic after its last visit in 2010 as very important. He stated that this demonstrates a return to confidence, thanks to the best practices implemented at each of the country's port terminals, which are constantly improving and modernizing to provide the best possible service to every visitor arriving through the ports.
Similarly, he valued as positive the fact that more and more cruise companies are including us in their itineraries, to contribute to the increase in the arrival of visitors through the different docks.
The Dominican Port Authority (Apordom) reported that, according to the cruise ship arrival schedule for July, 26 vessels are expected to dock. The Amber Cove terminal will receive the most cruise ships with 13, followed by Taino Bay with 10, Cabo Rojo with 2, and La Romana, East Pier, with 1.
Apordom advises that, according to the cruise passenger arrival projection schedule, the dates may change due to weather conditions. This would lead to modifications in the routes determined by the cruise lines.
