SANTO DOMINGO.– The Dominican Republic Hotel and Tourism Association (Asonahores) announced the 24th edition of the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange, DATE 2024, which will take place from April 24 to 26 at the Paradisus Palma Real Hotel in Punta Cana.
Aguie Lendor, executive vice president of Asonahores, explained that this edition of DATE 2024 will highlight golf tourism, medical tourism, diving, weddings, adventure tourism and ecotourism, among others, to attract these buyer segments from the main specialized markets and combined with the sun and beach tourism offer that characterizes the country.
“For DATE 2024, we are working on the event agenda to provide a memorable experience and ensure commercial success for all attendees with business meetings every day of the fair, exhibitions, cultural activities, press conferences, and themed parties,” said Lendor.
The executive said that through DATE 2024 they seek to support the different segments and the great diversity offered by the Dominican tourism product so that all suppliers can have an active presence to achieve business meetings with the specialized buyers who will visit the country in order to learn about its offer.
David Llibre, president of Asonahores, indicated that DATE is the main marketing event for the Dominican tourism product and its complementary offering, which is carried out to continue increasing and diversifying the arrival of visitors to the Dominican Republic.
“This DATE finds the Dominican Republic at its best moment for tourism after exceeding 10 million visitors and at the same time represents a great challenge to continue raising this figure and strengthening its leadership in the region,” said Llibre.
He explained that this new version of DATE 2024 reaffirms Asonahores' commitment to promoting the tourist attractions of the Dominican Republic, increasing investments, and ensuring that the number of visitors to the country grows every year.
A press release from Anonahores states that Karisma Hotels & Resort will be hosting a welcome cocktail on Tuesday, April 23, to greet participants of the new edition. Similarly, an opening cocktail party will be held on Wednesday, April 24, at Paradisus Palma Real, while the Secrets Tides Punta Cana hotel will host the closing event on Thursday, April 25.
Francisco Camps Orfila, Managing Director of Meliá Hotels International in the Dominican Republic, indicated that he felt deeply honored and grateful on behalf of the hotel chain, for the honor of Paradisus Palma Real hosting this outstanding fair.
