SANTODOMINGO– Grupo Piñero, a Spanish tourism company with almost 50 years of history, has invested more than €950,000 in the 2021 Training Plan to boost the professional growth of its employees.
Through this program, the company has delivered over 180,000 hours of training tailored to the specific needs of each position. As a result, more than 102,000 people have benefited from the various activities carried out by the company this year.
This program, framed within the company's 2022-2030 Strategic Sustainability Plan, specifically within the strategic focus on people, aims to improve the quality of life of employees, paying special attention to safety, health and well-being, as well as promoting professional growth within the Group.
In this way, the company carries out socially responsible management that will allow it to create long-term value and continue to be a leading company in the tourism market in all the markets where it has a presence: Dominican Republic, Spain, Mexico and Jamaica.
Thus, in 2021, various awareness training courses on sustainability have been delivered, along with environmental awareness activities to integrate environmental, social and ethical criteria into business management, within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

Victoria Capellà, Corporate Director of Human Resources at Grupo Piñero, explained that they continuously work on implementing projects that foster the professional and personal development of their employees, as they are the ones who make the company's achievements possible. Boosting talent
Grupo Piñero has launched a Talent Management program to empower employees in their professional development. This initiative involves various processes to understand their expectations, needs, and development challenges, while simultaneously setting objectives and an action plan to achieve them with a multidisciplinary approach. Notably, in 2021, 7.35% of employees were promoted within the company, and 31% of those promotions went to women.
In addition to developing internal talent, Grupo Piñero is also implementing various initiatives to attract professionals. To this end, the company is working on an Employee Experience program to ensure that both current employees and new hires have a professional and personal growth plan aligned with the Group's culture and values.
