Grupo Piñero grows 12% compared to 2022; it has a turnover of 956 million euros in 2023

Grupo Piñero reported that it closed the year 2023 with a record turnover of 956 million euros, exceeding the results of 2022 by 12%, highlighting that in 2024 it will invest 65 million euros to renovate its hotel facilities through a sustainable and innovative model.

According to a company press release, the largest investment will go to its hotel division with €40 million, followed by the Bahia Principe Residences & Golf division with €16 million. The remaining investment (€9 million) will be allocated to strategic projects in other divisions and brands of the Group.

Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts will focus its investments on renovating its hotel facilities with sustainable elements and responding to the trends and needs of its customers, creating a differentiated quality offer that integrates the local culture of the destinations, through architecture, decoration, gastronomic offer and entertainment.

He explained that different renovations will be carried out in hotels in different destinations, with a special focus on the Bávaro destination, located in the Dominican Republic, as the Group's most important hotel facility.

"Grupo Piñero continues the transformation of its hotel business. On the one hand, it is integrating the use of AI in its hotel division as a tool applied to service quality assessment operations in its hotels and as a predictive tool for economic, customer, and operational metrics," the company explained.

He added that these projects are complemented by the launch of the new Bahia Principe app, which is already showing good results as a new sales channel, and the automation of its hotel rooms.

Residential division

Grupo Piñero said it will allocate 16 million euros to its real estate business division, with the main objective of continuing to provide its residential properties with primary residence services, innovative elements and sustainable mobility options for its customers.

Among the planned improvements, he stated that he will promote the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence in new facial recognition systems, drones and thermal cameras to optimize video surveillance of its residential properties.

In its Golf division, it will continue to invest in improving customer service at its golf courses and clubs, PGA Riviera Maya and PGA Ocean's 4.   

“In 2024, Grupo Piñero will also allocate its investments to further develop its Strategic Sustainability Plan, strengthening its commitment to the pillars of governance, people, and planet across its various business units. Key objectives include consolidating projects such as its occupational health and safety plan, its training plan, its talent management plan, and its plan for contributing to the local community. Regarding the environment, the company will focus on consolidating and expanding its Eco-Bahia Ecological Foundation in its main destinations, as well as investing in the implementation of renewable energy in its hotels and residences,” the company stated.
