Summer has arrived, and many will take advantage of it to relax at the beach. A new invention has arrived to replace beach umbrellas: a device for creating shade on the beach that can be installed in less than three minutes.
It's called ShadeSock, from the company jobean. It's a kind of inflatable awning that 's easy to set up on the sandand is designed to replace traditional beach umbrellas. Currently sold out, it will be available for just $189.99 (approximately €177.30) when it's back in stock. It's recently gone viral thanks to a video posted on TikTok.
The creators of ShadeSock present this invention as a product that "flies silently without producing any flapping noise," setting it apart from other beach umbrellas. They also highlight its design, which allows the canopy to inflate by capturing more wind than it releases , and how the pressure prevents it from moving. In fact, some customers describe it as "unique and quiet," "like a cloud."
This device also stands out for its 360-degree self-adjusting structure, which allows the awning to rotate freely, "automatically aligning itself with wind directions and eliminating the need for manual adjustments." Its creators claim that this invention, measuring 2.4 meters wide and 3 meters long, can comfortably provide shade for up to four people.
Furthermore, it's worth noting that ShadeSock features a unique design that forces the sun's UV rays to pass through two layers of UPF 50+ material before reaching the ground. One of its key features is its quick and easy installation, which takes only two to three minutes. Simply unfold the handles on the base and screw it into the sand.
Next, slide the four frame posts into the sleeves and connect them to the central 'H'-shaped bracket. Then, slide the 'U'-shaped brackets onto the ends of the frame posts and secure the buckle clips around them. Finally, connect the 'H' clamp to the top post, slide the top post into place, and wait for the wind to do the rest.
The company claims its invention can withstand both strong winds —in which case an included support rope can be used—and light winds, flying perfectly in wind speeds between 4 and 20 mph. ShadeSock is also easy to transport, as it comes with a durable canvas bag divided into two compartments that allow the canopy and frame pieces to be separated.
