SANTO DOMINGO.– Air Caraïbes will increase the frequency of its flights between Paris and the Dominican Republic by more than 50% for the 2023-2024 winter season, the French-owned airline and its marketing company in the country, General Air Services, announced yesterday, Friday.
To meet the demand of customers who appreciate this tourist destination, the company will offer up to 6,000 weekly seats departing from Paris Orly to Punta Cana and Santo Domingo, according to a press release.
“Air Caraïbes has the capacity and the will to maintain the links between France and the Dominican Republic. We have worked with the Dominican authorities and met the necessary conditions on both sides to increase our flight frequencies and allow the many French tourists who appreciate this destination to continue traveling” to the Caribbean country, said Air Caraïbes President Marc Rochet.
Air Caraïbes and tour operators are committed "to a strong partnership aimed at maintaining the level of tourist assistance from French customers to the Dominican Republic," where the airline "becomes an important player in the country's goal of exceeding 10 million tourists this year.".
From October 20, 2023, Air Caraïbes will offer a daily flight to the Dominican Republic operated mainly by an Airbus A350-900, and from December 14, 2023 the airline will offer nine weekly flights to this destination.
The route from Paris-Orly to Punta Cana will have one daily nonstop flight, while the route connecting the French capital with Santo Domingo will have two direct flights per week, one via Port-au-Prince (Haiti) and the other via San Salvador (Bahamas), the note says.
