SANTO DOMINGO.- Hardware store owners, importers, exporters, equipment suppliers, and construction material providers from across the region will be present at Expo Ferretera Dominicana 2022, which will become the ideal setting for industry players to create business opportunities and expand their horizons.
Ana Ventura, general manager of the fair, explains that the objective of the event is to strengthen relationships in order to expand local hardware products to other countries in the region. She believes that the country has the potential to export products such as paints, PVC pipes, water tanks, and others to the region.
The representative of the hardware sector assures that they are seeking alternative markets that will foster the sector's dynamism. At Expo Ferretera 2022, you will find products and technological innovations that facilitate the work of builders.
Amid the difficulties and price increases in construction materials recorded since the start of the pandemic and worsened by the war between Russia and Ukraine, business owners and trade associations in the sector remain optimistic that together with the government they will be able to overcome the crisis and boost the growth of the industry.
Ventura maintains that, as a sector, they don't want to raise prices, but doing so is necessary to remain operational, as they depend on international factors. "We have no control over these price increases; we must make the necessary cost adjustments according to the rise in raw material prices," he stated.
However, the leader sees these increases as temporary and says they are optimistic that the government and local industries will seek viable measures to keep the sector operating.
“We are fully prepared to take action to ensure that these international price increases do not affect the market and to promote dynamism in the sector,” the hardware representative stated.
He explained that nations like Puerto Rico and other Caribbean islands have a high demand for water tanks.
