SANTO DOMINGO. – Engineer Eduardo Estrella took office this Wednesday as Minister of Public Works and Communications, highlighting his commitment to the completion of strategic projects and the promotion of new infrastructure that will continue to strengthen national development.
During the swearing-in ceremony, led in the Presidential Office by Vice President Raquel Peña, Estrella expressed her gratitude to President Luis Abinader for the trust placed in her appointment, and reaffirmed her commitment to continue deepening the transformations that the government is promoting in infrastructure matters.
What I've come to do, arriving at the Ministry of Public Works, is like coming home, and I do it with the firm purpose of continuing the initiatives that are changing the lives of Dominicans.
Complete works and advance strategic projects
Estrella emphasized that among her immediate priorities is the completion of important projects underway, as well as the progress of new works that will improve mobility, connectivity and the quality of life of citizens.
“We will work with determination to guarantee the delivery of key infrastructure for the development of the country, streamlining processes, optimizing resources and ensuring that each project has a positive and lasting impact,” he said.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, efficiency in public investment, the agile execution of projects and the maintenance of existing works, aligned with the modernization and transformation vision of President Abinader's Government.

“Our commitment is to the people, to progress, and to a future in which infrastructure is an engine of growth and well-being for all Dominicans,” the new minister stated.

Also participating in the activity were the Minister of Youth, Carlos Valdez Matos; the director of RD-Vial, Hostos Rizik; the director of the National Institute of Land Transportation and Transit (Intrant), Milton Morrison; as well as the vice ministers of Public Works Roberto Herrera, Angel Tejeda, Mélito Santana, Elías Santana, Tomasina Pascual and Luis Bastardo, and the Chief of Staff, Rafael Espinal.
