DGII reiterates warning about real estate discharges without proof of payment

SANTO DOMINGO- The General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII) reiterated yesterday to all taxpayers and the general public the obligation to provide information on payments in real estate transfers and discharges.

In a notice, the entity reminded public notaries of their commitment to demand and retain verifiable proof of payment for real estate transfers, warning that it will not authorize transactions that do not comply with this provision.

It emphasizes that the measure must be established according to the provisions of Standard 07-22. "In acts of transfer of real estate property (purchase and sale, payment in kind, exchange, contingency fee and amicable partitions), all payments made, including those pending, must be detailed," explains the information from the DGII.

“The description of the payments must be included in the same transfer act or in an annex notarized by the acting notary, indicating date, amount, bank entity (if applicable), means of payment (transfer, check, cash, among others) and, optionally, a reference,” says the statement dated yesterday, August 25.

The DGII warns that the measure took effect on May 1st and does not authorize the execution of transfer agreements that do not comply with these provisions. “In the case of transfers and discharges of real estate, the official proof of payment will not be included in the file submitted to the DGII,” it adds.

The entity highlights that for more information, you can contact its contact center by phone at (809) 689-3444 or write to the email address informacion@dgii.gov.do or visit our website www.dgii.gov.do.
