MARÍA TRINIDAD SÁNCHEZ. – The Minister of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), Deligne Ascención, highlighted that the boardwalk being built in the city of Nagua will change the face of the municipality, facilitating its real estate and tourism development.
“It is a majestic project that will change the landscape, as is already beginning to be seen in this municipality. With these works, spaces are being reclaimed from the sea and new beaches are being created,” he said.
Ascención said that he is monitoring the construction work until its completion, supporting the contractors, authorities, and community members to facilitate and ensure that the construction schedule is met.

“This project includes a marina that will be an added bonus for Nagua, making it one of the main tourist destinations in the Northeast, along with Cabrera and Río San Juan. This will boost the development of this thriving province,” the official said.
The project will include four 3.50-meter lanes, two in each direction, a 2.75-meter bike path and 3.75-meter sidewalks, beach improvements, children's recreation areas, exercise areas, event areas, food areas, an amphitheater, and breakwater protection.
