SANTO DOMINGO.-Corvi, a leader in the manufacture of steel and PVC pipes, launched its line of thermofused PPR pipes and fittings in the Dominican market. This line features low thermal conductivity for hot and cold water and a low probability of leaks.
Corvi has added this product line to its portfolio to complement its service offerings. This launch includes nominal diameter sizes ranging from 20 mm to 160 mm, making it one of the most comprehensive options on the market.
All products continue to be covered by a quality system under the ISO 9001 standard, a statement says.
"PPR pipe comes with a range of fittings, parts, and accessories available for each pipe diameter. One of the main features of this product is its low thermal conductivity, meaning that during the transfer of hot or cold fluids, it retains heat, resulting in energy-efficient systems and lower insulation costs for PPR pipes," the company explains.
He adds that PPR pipe has a low probability of leaks, as it is able to withstand structural impacts even in cold climate installations without any risk of cracking or breakage, unlike other common types of plastic pipes.
Furthermore, it has an efficient internal surface, which reduces pressure losses during the transport and distribution of fluids, further contributing to the energy efficiency of PPR piping systems.
"It has high chemical and mechanical resistance. This is especially important in industrial applications. It is also inert to most electrolytes and chemicals, over a wide temperature range.".
This system is easy to cut, join, and work with; the joining of PPR pipes and fittings is done solely through heat and requires no chemicals or additional materials.
