SANTO DOMINGO.- As part of its 61st anniversary celebration, the Dominican College of Engineers, Architects and Surveyors (Codia) announced that it will recognize 61 Codia professionals who have distinguished themselves through their work and services in the country on the evening of Friday, January 12, 2024.
The organization explains that these are business builders and project and/or service developers who started with small companies and turned them into successful models.
The event will take place at 7:00 PM at the JW Marriott hotel, located in the National District.
“The goal is to cover all areas: civil, electromechanical, surveying, and architectural engineering. In each of these fields, we're looking for those who have excelled in construction, supervision and consulting services, design, and what we generally call their vocation, which is reflected in their achievements in both civil works and other areas,” engineer Manuel Inoa explained to El Inmobiliario .
The list of those recognized includes Manuel Estrella Cruz, Alexander Holsteinson, Manuel Gómez Achécar, Pedro Delgado Malagón, Rafael Bisonó Genao, Benito Ciriaco, Manuel Antonio Hernández Andújar, Manuel Jesús Vargas, Juan Portalatín Rodríguez Durán, Antonio Rodríguez Fermín, and Héctor Then Cruz.
In addition, Raúl Rizek, Alfredo Alba Sánchez, Romeo Holguín Veras, Abraham Hazoury Toral, Carlos José Leal Arias, Luis Molina Achécar, Rafael Núñez, Jesús María Guerrero, Jesús Rodríguez Sandoval, Jorge López, Carlos E. Hernández, Atilio de Frías, Zoilo Rafael Taveras, Tirso Álvarez Efres, Roberto Carvajal, Esteban Prieto, among others, are cited.
Conferences and panels
The conference program continues this Friday, January 12, in the Indotel auditorium where at 9:00 AM a panel on water security will be held, led by engineer Olmedo Caba, as well as one on the situation of the Masacre River, where Wascar Martínez will join.
At 11:30 AM, the topic of "stormwater drainage and sanitary sewer system in Greater Santo Domingo" will be discussed with Rafael Suberví Bonilla, Mayobanex Suazo, and Weillington Arnaud. At 3:00 PM, the topic of "solutions to the underpass at the intersection of Máximo Gómez Avenue and 27 de Febrero Avenue" will be addressed.
At the Technological Institute (INTEC), at 10:00 AM, engineers Jesús Joel Camilo and Dahianna De la Rosa will speak about the “geographic information system applied to water and topographic resources”; at 2:00 PM, the same topic will be covered but applied to municipal cadastre.
At 3:00 PM, INTEC will also address "technological advances in geomatics engineering and its applications in topography," presented by engineer Alexander Holsteinson.
