SANTO DOMINGO.- The Dominican College of Engineers, Architects and Surveyors (CODIA) is celebrating its 61st anniversary this week with a series of activities for all its members.
This Tuesday the 9th, the architecture core of the guild will hold several conferences at the Dominican Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INDRHI) and the Indotel auditorium in the Colonial City.
The first ones will be held at 9:00 AM on methodology for obtaining information for property valuation, through the National Cadastre, provided by Héctor Pérez Miranbeaux; and on “water crisis, challenges and opportunities” by Luis Carvajal.
At 10:30 AM at INDRI, surveyor Wilfredo Núñez will give the lecture “Use of technology, valuation, and software for calculating compensation amounts for expropriations”; while in the Colonial City, engineer Rafael Damirón will discuss “border groundwater, a resource for development.”.
“Implementation of drones in the processes of topographic surveys and preparation of surfaces intended for BIM design of infrastructure” will be taught by engineer Alberto Canahuate, at 11:30 AM.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, January 10th, it will be the turn of the northern region, starting at 9:00 AM in the auditorium of the Pontifical Catholic University Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) of Santiago, with the topic "electrical focus and development of Santiago", with engineer Andrés Cueto from EDENORTE.
At 10:30 AM, Minister of the Presidency Joel Santos will deliver a lecture entitled “Monorail and the Development of Santiago.” At 2:00 PM in the same venue, engineer Andrés Burgos will speak on “Drinking Water Supply in the Province of Santiago.” A fellowship dinner will be held at 7:00 PM in Santiago.
Simultaneously, tomorrow, January 10, 2024, the architecture department of CODIA will hold an art exhibition at the Indotel auditorium in the Dominican capital, starting at 9:00 AM, along with the conference “One-Stop Shop,” presented by the Ministry of Housing, Habitat, and Buildings (MIVHE). At 10:30 AM, in the same venue, the panels “Second Forum on Urban Mobility and Sustainable Transportation 2024” and “Transformation of Urban Mobility and Sustainable Transportation in the Dominican Republic” will take place.
At 2:00 PM, the afternoon activities begin with the conference “Performance Evaluation in Thin-Walled Buildings” by engineer Norberto Rojas; at 3:30 PM, architect Adrián Gañán will speak about the environment and solid waste management in the Dominican Republic, while the conference “Compost Project and Urban Waste” by architect Branno Martínez will be held at 6:00 PM.
