SANTO DOMINGO- CEMEX Dominicana has been recognized for its outstanding quality practices in the first presentation of the quality award from the Dominican Institute for Quality (INDOCAL), a recognition that underlines the company's commitment to excellence in its products and services.
The awards ceremony, held in Santo Domingo, was attended by notable figures such as Víctor Bisonó, Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM), and Lorenzo Ramírez, Director General of INDOCAL.
This inaugural award aims to highlight entities, both public and private, that meet rigorous quality standards in the generation of reliable and safe goods and services, based on principles of standardization, metrology and conformity assessment, according to INDOCAL regulations.
In her remarks, Vice President Raquel Peña emphasized that this award is unique in the region and represents a significant step toward strengthening the country's institutional capabilities. She also underscored the importance of the government's efforts to improve the quality of products and services for the benefit of the public, according to a CEMEX press release.
The document adds that for Cemex, rigorous internal quality processes in compliance with high international standards position the company as an industry leader. "Committed to quality, innovation, and sustainability, these have been strategic pillars of the multinational, highlighted through its global Future in Action strategy, which focuses on achieving sustainable excellence through climate action, circularity, and natural resource management with the goal of becoming a carbon-neutral company," the company emphasizes.
It also maintains that, through Futuro en Acción, Cemex promotes sustainable products and solutions that reduce CO2 emissions during their manufacturing process in the plants, resulting in products with a smaller carbon footprint, thanks to the use of alternative raw materials and the increasing use of renewable energy sources.
"Cemex has a portfolio of innovative products and solutions that seek to contribute to the construction of resilient infrastructure, climate-smart urban development, promoting economic growth through the preservation of the environment.".
Representing CEMEX Dominicana were Dania Heredia, Legal Director, Ramón Padilla, Raw Materials Manager, and Kirsy Aristy, Cement Quality Coordinator.
