SANTO DOMINGO.– Cementos Progreso Holdings, SL, a company with 125 years of experience in the cement, concrete and construction materials industry, announced its official entry into the Dominican market.
Through the acquisition of CEMEX 's operations in this country, along with its export business to Haiti, Cementos Progreso, Progreso's flagship brand, consolidates a solid international growth plan, venturing into one of the continent's most dynamic economies and expanding its presence to eight countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, a press release highlights.
The newly acquired operation, recognized as one of the most important in the Caribbean, has the infrastructure and strategic capabilities that will allow Cementos Progreso to meet the needs of the rapidly growing Dominican market, the press release states.
