Caasd and Codia raffle off 28 well projects in Greater Santo Domingo

SANTO DOMINGO.-  The Santo Domingo Water and Sewerage Corporation (Caasd) presented this Thursday, December 4, the process CAASD-CCC-SO-2025-0001, corresponding to the drawing of works for the construction and electrification of wells in the National District and the province of Santo Domingo.

The process includes 28 construction projects located in sectors of the northwest and southwest of Greater Santo Domingo. Representatives from the Dominican College of Engineers, Architects, and Surveyors (CODIA), the General Directorate of Governmental Integrity (DIGEIG), and the General Directorate of Public Procurement (DGCP) were present at the event.

The Caasd reported that the work includes drilling wells, electrification and installation of pumping equipment, with the purpose of improving the supply and distribution of drinking water and strengthening the response capacity in vulnerable areas.

The estimated investment exceeds RD$293,088,552.70 and is part of the expansion and modernization plan for the well system promoted by the institution, through the Zone Plan, aimed at guaranteeing a more efficient and sustainable service for families in the National District and the province of Santo Domingo.

The works cover sectors such as Gualey, Simón Bolívar, 24 de Abril, Las Cañitas, Cristo Rey, La Agustina, Villa Agrícola, Los Girasoles, Arroyo Hondo, Herrera, Engombe and Olimpo, among others.

The draw was conducted under Regulation 416-23 on Public Procurement and Contracting, with the participation of invited observers, including representatives from Codia, Digeig and a compliance officer assigned by Public Procurement.

The Corporation specified that the award will be made by random selection among the qualified bidders, with the condition that each participant can only win one lot, provided that there is the minimum required number of bidders, thus promoting a balanced distribution of opportunities.

With this process, the Caasd reported that it will continue developing projects to strengthen water infrastructure and improve the quality of service in communities in Greater Santo Domingo.
