Banreservas reports that it has loaned more than 53,052 million to the construction sector in the last five years

SANTO DOMINGOBanco de Reservas (Banreservas) reported today that it increased its loan portfolio by 89% in the last five years, going from 318,421 million pesos in 2020 to 601,036 million pesos in 2025, an achievement that - according to the entity - consolidates it as the main bank in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean.

In a press release, Banreservas reported that this "extraordinary result" means that Banreservas has loaned more than 282,615 million pesos to different productive sectors in just five years, compared to the 318,421 million it had placed in 79 years of financial history, a fact that denotes the "excellent growth" of the institution.

Samuel Pereyra, CEO of the financial institution, stated that the institution's loan portfolio has experienced a "meteoric increase" in recent years, and has also achieved significant improvement, with 94% of its loans placed in the private sector and only 6% in the public sector.

"In recent years, Banreservas has played an important role in society, supporting all productive sectors, especially the country's Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), with responsible loans that have boosted the Dominican Republic's economy and improved the well-being of its people. That is why we have grown so much as a financial institution," he said.

The bank executive stated that the financial institution 's results are due to the high level of commitment of its staff, which guarantees a respectful and personalized treatment of clients for the success of their projects and initiatives.

This is the first time a Dominican bank has surpassed the "extraordinary" figure of more than 600 billion pesos in loans distributed across all sectors of the national economy.
