SANTO DOMINGO. – Banco Popular Dominicano was chosen as the Dominican company with the greatest achievements in digital transformation and learning agility, placing it in the top 10 in the region, according to a survey conducted by the business magazine Summa among its readers in Central America and the Caribbean.
These recognitions are highlighted in the June edition of this publication, in its Ranking of Leading Companies in Central America and the Dominican Republic 2023, emphasizing the leadership of cutting-edge companies from Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.
The results were obtained from 1,000 surveys conducted between February 15 and March 31, 2023. Companies were ranked according to their practices in four pillars: innovation, organizational culture, digital transformation, and learning agility.
Banco Popular, in addition to leading the national ranking in digital transformation and learning agility, reached position 3 and 7, respectively, among the 100 leading companies of the set of the seven countries analyzed.
In terms of innovation, the bank ranked 5th in the Dominican Republic, while in organizational culture it ranked 8th among the top 15 companies in the country.
Paradigm shift
In its editorial assessment, Summa magazine highlights the disruptive strategy of the companies that top the lists, whose common point lies in understanding the interrelation between the measured variables, but also they make "radical decisions to break with past patterns, leave behind obsolete models and do business in an increasingly intelligent and responsible way, with the support of a well-trained, proactive talent willing to do more.".
Meanwhile, in the magazine's pages, Antonia Antón de Hernández, senior executive vice president of Human Resources, Transformation, Culture, Credit Administration and Compliance, highlighted Banco Popular's innovative character and its constant presence in the organizational culture, continuously striving for excellence.
