SANTO DOMINGO.– Arajet carried out the inaugural flight of its new direct route between Punta Cana and Cordoba yesterday, December 1st, becoming the airline's second destination in Argentina.
The route will operate five times a week, expanding air connection options between the Dominican Republic and central Argentina.
According to Arajet's Communications Director, José Cabrera, as reported through the airline's social media channels, this opening comes in a context of a significant increase in the flow of Argentine travelers to the country.
He explains that “during the first half of 2025, the arrival of tourists from Argentina increased by 89.5% compared to the same period in 2024, positioning Argentina as the third largest source of visitors to the Dominican Republic. Projections for the end of the year are around 450,000 Argentine tourists,” according to the airline's communications director.
He indicated that with the addition of Córdoba, Arajet adds a new access point in Argentina in addition to Buenos Aires, facilitating connections to Punta Cana and other destinations in its network in the region.
Cabrera reported that "the initial response from the Cordoba market has been positive and that the airline is evaluating increasing operations to seven weekly frequencies.".
With this inaugural flight, Arajet completes its schedule of route openings for the year 2025.
