The Deputy Minister of Investment Projects, Camel Curi, highlighted that Ciudad Juan Bosch has about 40,000 people and it is estimated that by the end of 2023 the figure will be 80,000, so having these three churches will allow the residents to have a place to congregate and listen to the word of God, under the freedom of worship.
SANTO DOMINGO. Three plots of land with an area of 7,779.58 square meters were handed over by the Ministry of the Presidency (Minpre) to representatives of three churches in Ciudad Juan Bosch, where three religious temples will be built, which will contribute to the growth and expansion of the work carried out by Catholic, Adventist and Evangelical churches in the country.
“By receiving these lands, you and your communities are making a significant contribution through good living practices that benefit families, and for us, more than a contribution, it is an honor to hand over these lands to you,” said the Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos Echavarría, upon presenting the certifications.
The Catholic Church, represented by the Archdiocese of Santo Domingo, through Archbishop Monsignor Francisco Ozoria Acosta, was given Lot No. 00-14-01, with 3,186.86 Mt2 of land.
To the Adventist Church, in charge of the Dominican Association of the Southeast of the Seventh-day Adventists, represented by pastors Gabriel Paulino Lapaix, Jehomar Peña and Máximo Pacheco, Lot No. 03-08-03, with 2,317.26 Mt2 of land.
And to the Evangelical Church, represented by the Dominican Churches Social Service (SSID) and whose delegate is Pastor Dio Astacio, Lot No. 06-26-04, with 2,275.46 Mt2 of land.
“The fact that these three churches are building their temples in Ciudad Juan Bosch means a great deal, because through the work you will carry out, you will contribute to a better, more humane, just, and supportive society; and in this way, ethical and Christian values will be strengthened,” the minister said.
He added that the donation of these lands makes a special contribution to the spiritual health of the residents of that area, promoting good practices and rules of life based on the Bible, which is nothing more than a manual for life.
“Gentlemen, let these plots of land be spaces for the members of your churches to congregate and encourage others to do so, so that every day Ciudad Juan Bosch raises its level of community life,” Santos Echavarría emphasized.
