Amelia Rincón: From family learning to real estate leadership

SANTO DOMINGO – Amelia Rincón came to the real estate sector from a very familiar place: her home. Her first contact with construction wasn't professional; it was everyday life. Her father, a master builder, influenced her perspective from an early age, without her intending to.

“From a young age, I grew up watching my father build houses with his own hands,” she says. From that experience, she learned that building goes beyond the physical realm; it also involves building dreams, families, and stability.

His professional career formally began in 2008. For years he developed various businesses, accumulating experience and judgment, until eventually he began investing in rental properties.

“That’s where I understood the true value of this sector: it’s not just about selling or renting, it’s about impacting lives,” said Amelia, who has been a merchant, entrepreneur, and investor for 17 years.

The biggest challenge of her journey came when she decided to transition from being a property owner to becoming a developer. Together with her children, she embraced this change, which resulted in projects like Amelia II Beach Residences and Amelia III Caribbean Village.

“I learned that real estate development requires vision, perseverance, patience, and a lot of faith. Today I can say that each challenge prepared me to lead with greater awareness, commitment, and purpose,” he expressed.

Looking back on her story, Rincón, who is the administrative manager of Construcciones y Servicios Rincón Lorenzo (CSRL), recalls a phrase that became her guiding principle: “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” Her father would repeat it to her whenever she doubted her abilities.

“Today, that phrase defines my leadership style, how I raise my children, and how I make business decisions. It reminds me every day that there are no small dreams when there is a big will,” he said.

Although she has ventured into different businesses, Amelia cannot imagine herself outside the real estate market, as she says it unites everything she is: family, purpose, service and legacy.

Her greatest motivation in life stems from experience and empathy: to help more people, especially women, achieve the dream of having their own home, aware of how difficult it is to get there.
