Melissa Conde: Building opportunities on the Dominican coast

SANTO DOMINGO – Melissa Conde found in the Dominican Republic the place where she decided to put down roots and further her career. Born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras on December 17, 1981, she arrived in the country in 2018 with her husband for a job opportunity that seemed temporary. That same year, her daughter was born, and with her came a certainty: to stay and build a home by the sea.

Before Punta Cana, his professional life had already taken him to several countries. In England, he worked in tourism, honing a strong focus on customer service; and his time in banking gave him a financial foundation and knowledge of the credit card industry. Today, as CEO and general manager of MC Punta Cana Realty, he combines these skills to offer real estate advice with personalized attention, analysis, and trust.

For Melissa, the sea is more than just scenery: it's a lifestyle. Her best childhood memories are tied to the coast, and living near the water was a long-held dream. “My best memories have been near the sea. I always knew I had to live like this,” she says. That connection also guides her work, because many clients aren't just looking for a property, but a different way of experiencing everyday life.

Her experience on cruise ships and interacting with people of multiple nationalities gave her a crucial multicultural perspective in a global market. Speaking several languages and understanding different cultures makes communication smoother and reduces friction in important decisions. “When we speak the same language, nothing is lost in translation, and the client feels confident,” she says.

From their perspective, the country offers attractive investment conditions: stability, growth, and international connectivity. In a competitive sector, they have positioned themselves through organization, clear strategies, and the support of a team aligned with their vision. They prioritize transparency in every transaction: explaining scenarios, timelines, and risks in simple language, and providing support until delivery. Their goal is for investors to feel secure from the first call and to return to invest in the country.

After traveling to several countries, the word "home" took on a deeper meaning: her family. "Wherever my husband, my daughter, and my dogs are, that's my home." This conviction guides her personal life and her business leadership, establishing her as a foreign woman who now shines in the Dominican Republic, drawn by the turquoise waters of a Caribbean paradise she has also chosen to call home.
