SANTO DOMINGO.- AEI, the Association of Real Estate Agents and Companies, invites real estate agencies and agents to a free webinar on electronic invoicing and its benefits, tomorrow, Tuesday the fourteenth of this month of March, at six in the afternoon.
The videoconference will be led by technicians from the General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII), and those interested in registering should go directly to the platform of that government entity and fill out the form.
The AEI and the DGII explain that the training event will have limited capacity and invite those interested to fill out the form so they can access the knowledge of this measure that was already approved on January 10 by the Senate of the Republic.

In their session on Tuesday, January 10th of this year, the senators approved the bill that seeks to establish electronic invoicing as mandatory in the country for all natural and legal persons.
According to the project prepared by the Executive Branch, those who attempt to "hack" the DGII tax system to regulate electronic invoicing will be penalized with sanctions.
Furthermore, given the mandatory nature of the matter, a deadline will be set throughout 2023 for large taxpayers and throughout 2024 for small taxpayers, so that they can adapt to the new process.
The project covers all individual and legal taxpayers, both public and private, as well as entities that carry out transfers of goods, deliveries for use, requests and rental of services for consideration or free of charge.
According to the project approved in the Senate, the DGII will validate electronic invoices and tax documents so that they serve as support for expenses and tax credits.
For this purpose, taxpayers will have a free invoicing system that will issue electronic tax receipts under a regulation that will be made by the Executive Branch 60 days after the law is approved in Congress.
Those who violate certain provisions of this law will be imprisoned for 1 to 5 years and fined up to four times the value of the fraudulently issued invoice.
While "hacking" will carry a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and fines of 400 minimum wages.
