Abinader delivers 380 land titles in SDE with an investment of RD$151,680,000

The titled homes and plots of land are located in the Katanga and Vietnam sectors of Los Mina, Santo Domingo East, Santo Domingo Province

SANTO DOMINGO- President Luis Abinader delivered 380 title out of a total projected 1,896 plots and homes in this area, for an amount of RD$151 million 680 thousand pesos. 

The titled lands have a total area of ​​275,255.28 square meters. 

The work carried out by the State Land Titling Technical Unit and the delivery of these title certificates will positively impact 1,896 families in the very near future, which in turn translates into more than 7,584 people. 

The president explained that the titled homes and plots of land are located in the Katanga and Vietnam sectors of Los Mina, Santo Domingo East, Santo Domingo Province.  

"Today we stand alongside thousands of people who see how the actions of their government have a positive impact on their real lives," he said. 

He asserted that this is, as he has always said, real politics, the politics of the street, the one that affects people's daily lives, the one that is worthwhile. 

"There isn't a week that goes by that I don't demand that my team organize a graduation ceremony .Whenever we go to a town or municipality, I ask where the graduation ceremony is and how many people we're giving degrees to," Abinader said. 

He expressed that he always does it with immense joy, because this is one of the policies he is most recognized for and it is a useful policy that generates security, does justice and benefits the humblest of the nation. 

"You are fighters who have built your lives and always strived to make this country better. Today, we are recognizing your dedication, hard work, and determination. That is why the government must always stand by you. It must always be an ally and never a problem in your lives," he added. 

The head of state indicated that through this act of delivering titles , it is demonstrated with facts that his maxim is to be by the side of the people in order to change their lives. 

He called on community members to open their doors to members of the Titling Commission so they can complete the process and receive the titles , from a government that is of the people and for those most in need. 

"Have no doubt, we will never abandon this path. We are a government of the people, for the people. Enjoy now your rights, your lives, your hopes, your houses and homes, which no one can take away from you because from today onward they belong to you," concluded President Abinader. 

Meanwhile, the Director General of National Assets, César Cedeño, stated that the delivery of titles brings great satisfaction because it brings joy and peace of mind to Dominican households and puts them in a position to contribute to the development of the country. 

He highlighted the president's vision of putting institutions to work hard to dust off hundreds of thousands of land titles so that they are in the hands of Dominican families, thus achieving the goal of more than 400,000 families having these titles and living peacefully in their homes. 

"Mr. President, you will go down in history as the father of Dominican land titling," Cedeño stated. 

For his part, the executive director of the State Permanent Commission for Land Titling , Mérida de Jesús Torres Espinal, stated that today the promise made on April 13th is being fulfilled, when it was announced that the first stage of work for the definitive titling of more than 5,000 title certificates was being initiated , in two stages.

He emphasized that this is the first time in history that any government has undertaken a project of this nature in Greater Santo Domingo, and that from this moment on, the beneficiaries are the legal and definitive owners of their homes and lots, who will begin to notice a change in their lives. 

He said that the expenses involved in issuing the titles carried out by the Titling Commission, together with National Assets, were assumed in full by the Dominican government.

During the event, Mérid Torres also announced that the technical work for the second stage will begin shortly, to continue changing people's lives.

He announced that 1,850 land titles will be delivered in the coming days in the Maquiteria, Los Mameyes and Ensanche Isabelita sectors.

Meanwhile, the governor of Santo Domingo province, Julia Drullard, expressed that this is a day of rejoicing because it brings a solution for people whose rights are recognized by the State and makes them the true owners of their homes. 

He said that this work being carried out by President Abinader throughout the country is aimed at improving the quality of life of every Dominican and that the president has changed the way the wealth of the Dominican Republic is managed with transparency. 

Speaking on behalf of the community, Domingo de la Mota Lorenzo thanked the government for this delivery of land titles , which he described as a feat that contributes to the nation's development.

The blessing of the event was given by the parish priest of the San Vicente de Paúl parish, Pelagio Taveras. 

Those present at the event included the Minister without Portfolio, Geanilda Vásquez; Antonio Taveras Guzmán, Senator for the Province of Santo Domingo; Manuel Jiménez, Mayor of Santo Domingo East; Francisco García, Director General of the Dominican Agrarian Institute; Rafael Burgos Gómez, President of the State Property Liquidation Commission; Héctor Pérez Mirambeaux, Director General of the National Cadastre; and Fernando Durán, General Administrator of the Agricultural Bank.

Also present were Ney García, Vice Minister of Housing, Habitat and Buildings; Hecmilio Galván, Director of FEDA; Katy Báez, Director of IMPOSDOM; the deputies, Bertico Santana, Carlos de Jesús, Bolívar Valera and the President of the Chapter Room of the Santo Domingo East City Hall, Franklin Marte.
