SANTO DOMINGO.-The presidential candidate of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Abel Martínez, assured the country's housing developers that from the Government, he will be their main ally.
During a meeting with executives of the Dominican Association of Housing Builders and Promoters (Acoprovi), Abel Martínez presented the public policies that he will develop if he manages to climb to the first position in the nation, for the benefit of the sector.
The initiatives presented by the PLD presidential candidate coincided exactly with the needs and priorities raised by the union's directors, according to a press release from ACOPROVI.
He emphasizes that the policies to boost the sector, which stem from Abel Martínez's Government Program, were presented by the general coordinator of the Campaign's Technical Cabinet, the former Minister of Economy, Juan Ariel Jiménez.
"These policies revolve around the Rental Law, the completion of housing goals, the creation of a one-stop shop to reduce processing times, and a social security system for the sector," the press release highlights.
During his meeting with directors and members of the association that brings together the builders, the PLD candidate spoke about implementing municipal and density regulations, improving working conditions, building a national technical training school, and implementing low-cost housing bonds.
Highlighting that housing construction received unquestionable support and development during the previous PLD administration, Acoprovi executives praised Abel Martínez's vision and commitment to promoting the sector.
They highlighted the construction of Ciudad Juan Bosch and other important housing projects that had the full support and political will of the PLD governments (2012-2020).
In that regard, Abel Martínez, reiterating his commitment, reminded them of the impressive development that Santiago has had in the last eight years in real estate matters, due to the policies of support for the sector that he promoted from the Mayor's office.
"You can be certain that we in the government will be the first to support you. In fact, we will be pushing you forward," the political leader declared.
Abel Martínez was accompanied by Juan Ariel Jiménez, the Cabinet Coordinator, Johnny Pujols, and the General and Operational Coordinators of the External Sector, Edwin Espinal and Orlando Tejeda.
Similarly, Roberto Rodríguez Marchena, general coordinator of Communications, and Julio Pimentel, operational coordinator.
Representing Acoprovi were Annerys Meléndez, president; Carlos Hernández, secretary; and Luis Joel Torres, board member.
Also present were past presidents and current advisors Héctor Bretón, Jaime González, and Fermín Acosta, as well as representatives from Banco BHD.
