SANTO DOMINGO.- Cayo Levantado Resort is a new venture that will combine the integral well-being of the human being and the protection of the environment, the latter being a very fashionable pillar in today's world.
Grupo Piñero is responsible for the innovative proposal, which is projected to open in June of this year, with an approximate investment cost of 40 million dollars.
A press release states that the complex will have more than 200 rooms, 6 restaurants, 7 bars and a coffee shop, 2 swimming pools, a spa, a personal training studio and a crossfit studio.
“Wellness at Cayo Levantado Resort will be a holistic integration of the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects, seeking to invigorate the body, calm the mind, and nourish the soul. To achieve this, the wellness offering is structured around four paths: Refresh, Restore, Relax, and Renew,” explains the press release.

The statement from Grupo Piñero adds that the project will revolve around three fundamental pillars of sustainability: Wellness, which is articulated in a wide range of services and facilities focused on the well-being of the guest; the local culture that makes the existence of the project possible; and its respectful integration into the environment.

Preserving the environment
According to the statement, the new accommodation establishment is integrated into its surroundings, minimizing the ecological impact as much as possible, protecting its ecosystem and preserving its spectacular fauna and flora.
“As a result of the commitment to innovation and sustainability, the identity of the Piñero Group, Cayo Levantado Resort will offer a 360 sustainable experience that goes further, incorporating a biodigestion system for organic waste through which the gas produced by its fermentation is recovered to generate energy, a water production plant (and bottling) by condensation for consumption, taking advantage of the relative humidity of the water and photovoltaic panels,” the company assures.

Furthermore, it states that check-in will do away with the use of paper with an identification bracelet, the rooms will comply with the zero plastics criterion and a “RoomXperience” room control system will be installed that will include lighting control, presence sensors, door and window opening sensor, temperature and humidity control.
