Since February, customers have opened more than 32,000 digital fixed-term deposits.
SANTO DOMINGO.- Banco Popular Dominicano reported that 45% of all time deposits made by its clients are now carried out through the financial organization's digital channels, demonstrating the users' preference for this functionality that began just six months ago, in February 2025.
According to the bank's data, digital fixed-term deposit accounts have been opened to date, exceeding 32,000. Additionally, 70% of customers with a digital fixed-term deposit have increased their savings balances at Banco Popular after opening this type of account.
These data reflect the users' confidence in the technological solutions offered by the financial institution to manage their savings in a safe, convenient and agile manner.
Innovation and digital leadership
Currently, more than 1.5 million digital users access Banco Popular's services, supported by a constantly evolving ecosystem. In 2025 alone, the bank launched more than 65 new features across its mobile applications and other digital channels, representing a 33% increase over the previous year.
Among these innovations are the new digital debit card available in the Popular App, the increase in online credit card limits, a new acquisition process with credit products that allows customers to be enrolled with a card or loan from the beginning, as well as the deployment of a new Internet Banking with expanded functionalities.
The bank also launched its API Portal, a pioneering new ecosystem in national banking that allows other third-party applications to connect with each other in a secure and controlled manner.
The bank's CEO, Mr. Christopher Paniagua, emphasized the bank's commitment to innovation, stating that "Banco Popular maintains its leadership in the digital transformation of the national financial system, offering its clients products and services that allow them to improve their lives, easily accessing savings and investment solutions.".
