A look at the future of urbanization and building design.
SANTO DOMINGO. – The Dominican Association of Housing Builders and Developers (ACOPROVI) has organized “Building the Future”, a congress with the intention of updating and enriching knowledge of construction in general, with its first edition on October 21, 2024 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Hotel.
This meeting, which will feature lectures by national and international experts, is entitled "Future of Construction and Housing Promotion in the Dominican Republic," with the goal of providing guidance on the present and future of housing construction and real estate development annually.
Topics to be covered
The public will be entertained with topics focused on the latest developments in various sectors, at a technological level: technological innovation, artificial intelligence and BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology, at a local level; advances such as in the Project Management System of the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings of the Dominican Republic (MIVHED).
Topics will also be covered at the construction level; cutting-edge construction methods applied by important local builders, and at the current level; the Tax Reform, according to information published by the Association on its Instagram account.
"Building the Future" will also feature panel discussions that include leading builders, designers, and finance experts to inform about the future guidelines for the sector and the challenges to consider.
Exhibitors
Among the speakers at the training day are the president of ACOPROVI, Annerys Meléndez, the Minister of Housing and Buildings, Carlos Bonilla Sánchez, the Vice Minister of Standards, Regulations and Procedures of that state agency Vivian Reyes and Magin Díaz, economist specializing in public finance and Macroeconomics.
Panelists
The panel on the future of the construction sector in the Dominican Republic will be led by engineer Guido Rosario, who will serve as moderator, in addition to the speakers who are: Ricardo Noboa, architect Juan Camilo Media, engineer Michel El-Hage and architect Carlos Restrepo.
International Guests from Panama and Mexico
Meanwhile, Panamanians Monique Céspedes and Abraham Zamudio will talk about artificial intelligence, while Mexican Pablo Lezama will speak about the future of construction.
