SANTO DOMINGO.- The Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA) granted 800 continuing education opportunities to deserving young people, during the first graduation of the BTI (Wellbeing, Triumph and Impulse) program.
The initiative, promoted by the mayor's office of Santo Domingo Norte, aims to support and recognize the performance of students from public educational centers, through access to new training alternatives in areas related to technology.
Expanding training opportunities
The rector of ITLA, engineer Jimmy Rosario Bernard, explained that initially the allocation of 140 continuing education places was planned, but the amount was expanded to 800, allowing a greater number of outstanding young people to benefit.
Rosario Bernard highlighted that participants will be able to prepare themselves in different areas of high technological demand, including artificial intelligence, software development, cybersecurity, computer fundamentals and networks, as well as other specialties.
“As rector of ITLA, it fills me with satisfaction to be part of this initiative, which continues to prioritize young students in vulnerable access conditions, to continue democratizing technological education in the Dominican Republic,” said Jimmy Rosario.
More than 37,000 granted
With this new allocation, the number of continuing education programs granted through ITLA amounts to 37,025, after adding the 800 granted on this occasion to the 36,225 previously delivered.
The institution highlighted that these actions are part of the efforts aimed at expanding access for the Dominican population to technological preparation programs and specialized training, especially among young people with fewer opportunities.

ITLA's Continuing Education initiatives allow participants to access free courses, workshops, and diplomas focused on developing technological and professional skills.
These programs are designed to strengthen students' knowledge and skills and facilitate their preparation in areas linked to the current needs of the labor market.
What specializations can be studied?
Among the available specializations are artificial intelligence, software development, cybersecurity, information networks, computer fundamentals, multimedia and digital communication, mechatronics and databases, among other technological disciplines.
